Abdul Razique is a renowned Professional Geoscientist with over 25 years of international experience in the mineral exploration and mining industry. His career focused on creating value through early and advanced stage exploration projects with major mining companies and junior explorers. Dr. Razique has a track record of successful exploration programs and significant discoveries of precious and base metals deposits worldwide.
Dr. Razique was a key member of BHP Minerals and a pioneer of the discovery of the Reko Diq copper-gold deposit in western Pakistan. His passion for geology and mineral deposits continued when he earned his PhD degree in 2013 from the University of British Columbia (UBC) Canada. His research was focused on the Reko Diq porphyry complex in Chagai belt, Balochistan-Pakistan. He has an expert knowledge of Porphyry copper-gold and Epithermal gold-silver deposits and is experienced in the exploration of VMS, shear-vein gold, skarns, carbonate replacement gold and magmatic nickel-copper deposits.
Dr. Razique delivered multiple greenfield and brownfield exploration and drilling projects in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia Canada, New Mexico and Arizona (USA). While working with Barrick Gold’s Asia Pacific region, Dr. Razique evaluated the global metallogenic districts for Tier-1 copper and gold deposits and mines in North America and Tethyan belts and played a key role in the revival of Reko Diq and several other projects in the Chagai metallogenic belt.
