Mr. Ashraf Mukaty

Mr. Mukaty is the Chairman of Liberty Group, a diversified conglomerate with interests in textiles, energy, packaging, pharmaceuticals, and the agricultural value chain, along with strategic shareholdings in several publicly listed companies. He has been leading the Group since 1982, guiding its evolution from a textile-based business into one of Pakistan’s most respected multi-sector enterprises.
Under his leadership, Liberty Mills has become one of Pakistan’s top textile exporters, manufacturing a wide range of home, medical, and apparel textile products for global markets.
In the energy sector, Mr. Mukaty launched Liberty Power Tech Limited in 2007, a 200 MW RFO-based power plant, followed by the establishment of Liberty Power Wind Ltd in 2019, consisting of two 50 MW wind power projects.
In 2015, he partnered with the Ashmore Group (UK) to establish Pakistan’s first aluminum can manufacturing plant, serving both domestic and international beverage brands.
In 2020, Mr. Mukaty collaborated with Novugen (Malaysia) to set up Pakistan’s first oncology drug manufacturing facility, a milestone in advancing the country’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities.
Beyond business, Mr. Mukaty is committed to philanthropy, actively supporting initiatives that provide meals, healthcare, education, and vocational training to underserved communities across Pakistan.
